Obelisk the Tormentor - JUMP-EN037 - Ultra Rare

I myself run a Junk Destroyer OTK So I manage to get Obelisk out 2nd turn xD A must have for any god card user and any collectors.

I love this card, I made a Kaiba Deck Advance and it is great.
I love how my Kaiba deck along with this card is destroying stupid Syncro Decks.

i ordered this card and it was not in good condition at all! i wasn't satisfied with the condition, but its a awesome card.

this is a really good card but would be unbeatable if u equiped axe of dispair and a few reptilliane rages

It is one of the best cards for that cheap it is totaly worth it I advise people to get it.

Its a strong card but not invinceable but if splashed in it can do a good deal of damage, I favor this as a strategic card you rip him out to unleash mayhem backed by other cards. If your on a budget and want an advanced deck combining a sound Machina Mayhem Deck (buy three), shove in all the good cards to destroy creatures or reduce them. Adding in S. Armor.

Then stick Obelisk in there. If you get Machina Force out as a special summon - not hard - and split him up to three monsters using that creatures effect to summon this mad boy. Then use the discarded monsters to summon Machina Fortress to the field. And the nice thing such a deck can be cheap to toss together and dangerous.

You realize that this card negates any effects... so the effect that would make that monster have 4600 ATK would be negated, and Obelisk would destroy it.

this is a very beast card o_O for pretty much any deck... Obelisk is invincible to any card except something like Chaos Emperor Dragon, Short Circuit, Lightning Vortex, or anything of that nature... I will probably buy it, even if it doesn't match the rest of my Batteryman deck... Just for laughs :D!

Sweet. I am actually holding a tourney for my birthday and this card is going to dominate. Same with the other cards I ordered, cause I just got Dark Horus and Gorz the Emissary of Darkness from a friend yesterday. So I'm glad I ordered this card today along with Doomkaiser dragon and Red dragon Archfiend and the assault modes versions of both.

This card is awsome and I know for a fact that the legal Winged Dragon of Ra is in the shonen jump after the one with thousand eyes Dragon, unfortunately Ra's effect is not very good.

First things first ordered this card, got it in perfectly mint condition. Second if this is truly tourney legal, there is a combo that if pulled off, there is only one way to beat it. Get Umi out and tornado wall (have 3 in your deck of each or legendary ocean I guess) the reason being that will protect your monsters from attacks 100% (not effects). Now, with them already out you can bring this monster out (before either is destroyed that's the trick). He won't negate the effects of these cards to your other monsters or him. Next once he is out you and your opponent cannot use new spell or trap cards and effects of monsters do not work except himself. Meaning, your monsters are 100% protected from attacks effects spells and traps. The only possible way to beat this strategy is to destroy Umi (or legendary ocean) or tornado wall before he is summoned. They cannot kill your monsters you want to tribute until they are destroyed. With them out and Oby, you can't loose. I believe even Exodia's effects do not work.

This card is extremelly useful when combined with barbaros and level eater. You special summon the 3 level eaters from your graveyard (not too hard to send them there since the have a DARK attribute) and you summon this card. Not only that, but you can special summon the level eaters again to use this card's effect for free up to 3 times!!!

this could be one of the single best yards in yugioh, no joke. an entire deck can be built around this one card, and its not hard to get out. his summoning cant be negated as long as its normal, and he cant be targeted by ANYTHING. no one will try it, but a true obelisk deck could become a force in yugioh.

I like it, but it is not that hard to destroy. My bro and I play all the time,
and he finds ways to beat my God Card. SO I really don't think it's you should
sac 3 monsters for just him. Like I play a tuner Deck and if my 3 monsters on
the field exceed His power why sac them for him? If you do get him put him in a
weak deck so u can count on him. Not a deck like mine, Although it is fun getting
him out on the field.

I believe if an opponent did not know you were going to duel with this card and you managed to summon Obelisk the Tormentor then with no doubt in my mind you would absolutely dominate. Play sword of revealing light, get three cards on the field and then summon Obelisk the Tormentor you would win, thats if your opponent did not have a card that targeted this card.

I could kick their butts with this card in the duel!

OBELISK FINALLY LEGAL!!! this card is a great addition to any deck especially when your friend has an annoying "Stardust Dragon" on the field you can attack it or tribute 2 monsters to destroy it, and Stardust cant negate it.

Obelisk is good in all but it can be destroyed by cards like (mirror force if and other monster attacks it and also
Lightning vortex) but if you tribute one (Hardened Armed Dragon)
It can only be destroyed by battle$

great card! i got mine for 5 bucks. oh i have read a lot of wrong so here are corrections.
1.this card is just as stoppable with Axe of despair as it is without, because the fact of the matter is Axe of despair targets and if you read obelisks effect the effects of spells, traps, and monster cards effects cant target obelisk, even if its your own card.
2. this is the legal version

People... People... Yes, this God card IS legal play... But it's not invincible. Otherwise, why would it be legal?

Here's the run down on both Gods released by Shouen Jump (Obby and Ra as of Dec 2010).

They can't be targeted by ANY card that exactly targets them. HOWEVER, if a card picks multiple targets (Dark Hole, Creature Swap, Fissue, Hammer Shot) It can AND will be affected.

A good card none the less, though. Ra is my way to go, with my Gravekeepers deck and all.... Binky Boy.

It can be easyli removed from field with Lava Golem ^_^

I'm sick of people saying that this card negates all other effects. It only negates effects that TARGET this card, so a card that boosts ATK wouldn't be negated. The part that says spells/traps/monster effects cannot be activated means it cannot be activated in response to its summon. Saying this card negates all effects is like saying Creeping Doom Manta negates all trap cards while it's on the field. Obelisk is actually extremely vulnerable to cards that don't target, like smashing ground or hammer shot. This card is fun, but not worth sacking 3 powerful monsters.

Should get one to add to my Anniversary pack cards with that signature at the bottom right :) not sure if it's tournament legal but sure is worth having.

This site doesn't have an edit function so I wrote another review to correct my previous one, the strat before is okay but your monsters can still be destroyed just protects your life points.

Theres a card thats like perfect to kill, its called Eye of (dammit 4got -.-) something.... it does the lvl of ur monster minus the monster ur killing. Ex.. lv10 Obelisk - lv 2 Gemini Warrior = lv8 x500atk= 4600Atk which would kill Obelisk :D

VERY broken, but overall a great card! Lives up to the name of a God card, can not wait for the other 2 to be released! And LOVE the art work!

This isn't the legal Obelisk, you guys... But it's still epic.

it means all effects (except it's own) are negated the first turn it is played. not too hard to figure out.
