Great card if you run it with the right deck. Its sad that the majority of the reviewers don't even have the card, let alone have read its effect correctly. I run it in a Gravekeeper's tribute based deck and there are a lot of cards that support this. The Dark Beginning's errata of Enchanted Javelin allows you to get all of your LP back just by attacking, and if its going to get destroyed, you can activate Mystik Wok or Destruct Potion to destroy it first and gain LP back. There's also Self Destruct Button for worse case scenario. Something else to mention is that its summon can't be negated, which has saved it many times.

If you ignore the flaws that almost every other monster in the game has (If your playing the game, you should be used to them by now), then the only real problem this card has is the Life Points being drained to 100 or being drained by 1000 for every monster you want to destroy, and in my opinion, the benefits outweigh the flaw.

My friends claim this card to be the most Unbalanced thing they've played against, (Note that they do not go to tournaments often) and other then my Sorcerer of Dark Magic, it is.

Oh, and once, i had my friend in a lock down and he had The Eye of Truth which gave me 1000 LP every turn, so after about 30 turns of stalling, i summoned Ra with 36700 Atk.

wow there are so many new ways to use ra now that it is affected by magic and traps :D i dont understand why they made such a big deal about special summoning the beast... oh well its still awsome in combination with mystic wak or destruct potion. it did lose some of the attributes that made ra so famous in the orginal show but hey this card is still powerful and if your creative it can OHKO and opponent

Epic, i love this card, buying it today (hopefully) I'm reconstructing my deck and this thing is Uber, The Low star reviews dont realize that semi-NOTHING can defeat it! egyption gods have no atk limits, soooo if you sacrifice 5-headed Dragon, Black Ultimate knight (or whatever its called) and the wiked avatar, then your freaking set!

This card is fun. If you cant adapt to these simple effects you're doing yugioh wronge. Nice for fun friendly games.

If you have a prime material dragon like i do this is ultra helpful but then again its effect is being activated and it negates effects so i dont know.

I'm a little disappointed compared to Obelisk this one isn't fairly good, but other than that way to go! Only legal Slifer left if it will come out.

Let's be honest, this card is mediocre at best. While the other two Gods are everything we could have hoped for, this one is lackluster. The first problem comes from Obelisk and Slifer having helpful effects, while this one has nothing special the other two don't. Even if you do manage to summon this monster, you still have to pay life points to power this card up as it doesn't gain the attack of the monsters tributed like the anime, and if your opponent has a god of their own on the field, chances are you may not have enough life points to even break even. Can you build a deck to take advantage of Ra's effect? Sure, but it's still outclassed in almost every way by the other two, leaving this "God" a nice addition to a collection and little else.

Ian Johnson If you read the card correctly you would see that The Playable Ra is easily beaten by cards such as Mirror Force, Lightning Vortex etc. And also that This Ra does not gain the attack of the tributed monsters You have to pay life points to give it attack. Example : You have 5600LP I pay 2000 Now I have 3600LP and Ra has 2000 Attack and you can only pay the cost once. :P

I admit I was also disappointed. The effect kind of stinks especially with low lifepoints and the fact that no effect other than its own can be used.
