Starter Deck: Dawn of the Xyz [includes Mirror Force] [YS11] (Yugioh)

It's amazing! I don't use the deck as a main deck, but it's amazing to add and mix in with other decks that need that XYZ twist to it. Also having mirror force is a BIG gimme. Good job Toll and Toad:)

I stopped playing YuGiOh a while back but I still like getting the starter decks to use as duel decks against each other (and I wanted to try new mechanics). Well the 2010 starter seemed far better than the 2011. Synchros seem better then XYZ if you have a deck made for them anyway. Also, the XYZ in starter are rather weak so they may get better as more are released. The new mechanic seems more useful then synchro in some decks since you don't need tuners, just 2 monsters of same level. I can see the cover card being played in most decks since level 4s are so common. I find it kinda odd how they are called XYZs though, reminds me of the old unions. As for the contents of the deck, it is pretty nice, mainly the mirror force. So this is a good buy for new players for sure, but the new mechanic is really just a twist on synchros.

This deck is awesome. The fact that it contains the new Xyz monsters is just splendid. It has No. 39 Utopia, Gachi Gachi Gantetsu and Grenosaurus, but it got Mirror Force, Blade Knight, Seven Tools of the Bandit and other cards in this deck. I'm sure when you purchase this deck, you'll make into a better deck by using better cards with the ones in this deck.

This is probably the best pre-made starter deck that Konami made in the past few years. The Xyz monsters included in this deck in my opinion, beat out the synchros in the other starter decks simply because it isnt "Oh hey I need this tuner and this specific level monster to get this big synchro out" and more along the lines of "Hey I can manipulate levels and get almost and Xyz I want". It's pretty decent in terms of spell and trap power, including a mirror force and seven tools which are great trap staples. The reason I gave this 4 stars was because Gachi Gachi Gentatsu (rank 2 Xyz) is not the best option for xyz and the fact this deck lacks some staples like book of moon, monster reborn, and dark hole which lends itself to being difficult to pull back from some big hits like an opponents dark hole or mirror force or some other type of large destruction effect.

Includes the new Black Borded XYZ monsters. Can't wait to try them out. They work perfectly with synchro decks among others.
